Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth are fresh and relevant even in the 21st century. The letters are personal. Paul wrote to people he knew and loved (see 1 Corinthians 4:15). Through these letters, Paul continued the ministry he had started in person. He had introduced the Corinthians to Jesus Christ. Now he walked with
them as they grew in their faith. The path of maturing was difficult. The young church was full of divisions, doctrinal disputes, immorality, and immaturity. They needed to learn that they should behave as people who were members of the body of Christ. Paul’s letters to the believers in this church can help us with our growing pains too.
