GROWING PAINS

Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth are fresh and applicable even in the 21st century. These letters
are personal, written to people Paul knew and loved (1 Corinthians 4:15). In these letters, we learn
that Paul continued the ministry he had started in person: introducing the Corinthians to Jesus Christ
and walking with them as they grew to maturity in Him. That path of growth was difficult. The
young church was full of divisions, doctrinal questions, immorality, and immaturity. They needed to
learn that they should behave as people who were members of the body of Christ. Paul’s letters to the
believers in this church are aids to help our growing pains too.
