Hope for Scattered and Suffering People

1 and 2 Peter are epistles, letters written to a group of people rather than to just one person. They are part of a
section of the New Testament known as the General Epistles, along with Hebrews, James, 1–3 John, and Jude.
Peter wrote to believers who faced hardship, discouragement, and persecution. He offered hope to those who
suffer in this life for Christ’s sake.
