A GOSPEL TO THE GENTILE WORLD

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels because they have a similar point of view on the events of Jesus’ life. John wrote his Gospel later, from a different
perspective. Matthew portrays Jesus as the Messiah; Mark, as the Servant of God; John, as the Son of God. Luke introduces Jesus as the Son of Man, the divine Saviour. Luke has more details about Jesus’ earthly life than the other Gospels.
